Specialist paediatric speech and language therapy services

Being able to talk and communicate are crucial life skills and ones that are taken for granted.  Some children experience difficulties with their listening, talking, understanding or ability to communicate with others. My philosophy is that intervention and support is the key to help all children develop.

I aim to get to know your child, find out your concerns and work together in a fun and enjoyable way to help them progress.  I liaise closely with parents and teachers as an essential part of therapy.

I carry out a comprehensive assessment so that advice and therapy can be tailored specifically to the needs of your child; following each assessment I will discuss the type of

intervention I feel your child needs and provide a written report for you.

Therapy can be at my clinic, your home or school / nursery.

Since our daughter started to visit Linda from November 2016, she has flourished in confidence with her speech and language. She can't wait to see Linda for her sessions; which are so much fun; as parents we have seen a huge difference over time, Linda guides us as parents; sharing great tips and constructive advice. We are enjoying this journey with our daughter but it's Linda's positive and caring approach that makes Linda the perfect therapist for her.

Who Can I Help?

I work with both pre-school children and older children up to the age of 18.  I can assess and work with your child if they:

• are late to start talking

• have difficulties with attention, concentration and listening

• have auditory processing difficulties – this can often be associated with a history of glue ear or sensitivity to sounds

• find it hard to understand what is said to them – with older children they often cannot follow classroom instructions

• have difficulty linking words together to form sentences

• use immature grammar

• have unclear speech

• have difficulty recalling words that they know (word finding difficulties)

• find it hard to play or interact with others

• have anxiety about talking in certain situations or to certain people (selective mutism)

• have a hoarse voice
